“Louie V Fabric” - Jae Lynx


The music video for Jae Lynx’s November release, “Louie V Fabric,” opens with shot after shot of luxury. From the backdrop of a fully stocked walk-in closet to the price of the apparel displayed on the screen, the video builds a world of wealth and abundance. In this world, Jae Lynx is the central character. He drives a red sports car and draws the attention of women surrounding him, thus commanding his audience’s attention with ease. His persona combines a confident stage presence with a youthful energy that matches the fast-paced, upbeat nature of the song. Images of handfuls of money, palm trees, and hot tubs full of bikini-clad women flash in rapid succession, complete with changing camera angles and creative transitions. 

The video’s visuals also reflect the song’s lyrical emphasis on wealth: “Walkin’ in Dior, don’t know what to cop / Ice on me, so cold like, ‘Ya’ / Wrist so flooded, can’t even tell time.” The line encapsulates a clever irony—that with such an abundance of watches, they cease to serve their functional purpose. Instead, the watch, as well as other material symbols in the song, become signifiers of status and social presence: “whippin’ in a car, I feel like I’m grindin’.” The shots of Jae Lynx behind the wheel of the car further emphasize the feeling of power that comes with wealth and status, a power that Lynx masters with riveting effortlessness.
