Q: How would you describe the vibe and lyrics behind Fein?

A:  Fien is a very bouncy and fun song. I wanted to capture the feeling you get when you know your on your sh*t and you are doing and pursuing what you want to do. I wanted it to be an upbeat song and something people could catch onto in terms of the lyrics.

Q: What inspires you the most?

A: Life inspires me the most. My environment and everything that surrounds me inspires me. I only write and tell what I know, think and believe.

Q: What is your end goal to your career?

A:  Aside from continuing my career as an artist and mixing engineer and overall just living in a creative mindset I want to eventually start my own record label and be a mentor for young artist, especially female artist.

Q: Who or what exactly got you to make music?

A: The first person who really influenced me to make music was my brother. When we were younger, he use to hop on the computer and start to make beats and write to them and eventually when he started his career I began to mimic him; make beats, write to them, and rap them.

Q: What did you take away from the first song you made? How can you reflect on it now?

A: My first song, which is titled True Story, is honestly one of my favorite songs I have ever made. Yes, the mixing and vocals are not the best but the lyrics and the passion and drive I have in that song is so optimistic and authentic. It explains my story and what I have been through and how I grew up in the suburbs of LA, but also introduces myself for the first time as an artist and a rapper.

Q: How would you describe yourself and your music in three ways?

A: I would describe my music as having a heavy West Coast influenced, very bouncy and vibey and authentic. Like I said previously, I only write what I know and what I’ve experienced.

Q: What do you think is the most important thing when working on your career?

A: Being true to myself and my music and not being afraid as a woman to speak up in this industry.

Q: What is something different, for you, you would like to do with your music?

A:  I would like to try adding more melodic sounds to my music and maybe even trying to add some East Coast influence into my music to help it appeal to more people. Being in DC for school has helped me with this with the music I have been working on.

Q: What was your internship at Universal?

A: This past summer I was an intern at Universal Music Group, specifically working with UMe in product development pre-mixing tracks that would eventually be reproduced onto vinyl and curating official playlists for various music platforms such as sportily and apple music for UMG artists. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I even got to pre-mix a James Brown vinyl that came out in October with my name on the vinyl.

Q: If you could change anything in your world or your surrounding world what would it be and why?

A: Absolutely nothing I love my life and I am happy with all the good and bad. Everything happens for a reason and there is no point in stressing or regretting life for it.
