Visual Art With Dino Tomic
Q: What can people expect with buying or looking into buying your books?
A: A collection of my creepyfied and 9 style art (mostly). It is a 100 page book and it contains about 500 drawings inside. (per book)
Q: What made you interested in doing a Creepyfied collection? What is your favorite piece from this collection?
A: I do not have one since I have done about 150 of these so far. I just wanted to test out something new and people liked it. It is one of many, many styles that I have.
Q: What is your creative process with starting on a blank canvas?
A: I never start a piece without knowing what I am making.
I plan everything ahead in my head and then I start working. If I do not have a plan I do not start.
Q: How long does it take for you to complete a piece, of course depending on the size?
A: All from 1 hour to 150+ hours.
It all depends on the piece, size, and medium that I use.
Q: What is your favorite genre of art to create? (Not medium but what do you like to create, cartoons, people, portraits, different renditions of objects or people)
A: Everything! I dislike sticking to one thing because I get very bored, easily, of things. If I do something too much I will not want to do it. This is why I switch a lot and do many different things all the time.
Q: What materials do you like the most? What are some that you do not like?
A: That depends from month to month. Some materials I have used are salt, gunpowder, tattoo, and water art are maybe my favorites so far. However, I like heat-changing art and invisible, tape, and smoke art as well.
Q: How do you feel about having so many followers and people interested in your art?
A: I do what I like, and people like seeing what I make. It makes me happy that I can make other people happy with my art.
Q: What was your most recent exhibit like?
A: Due to Covid-19, I did not have any this year at all.
However, I normally do not have them either because almost everything I make is sold right away (I have many collectors buying my art).
Q: Do you work in conjunction with tattoo artists or do the people who inquire about a piece choose their artist?
A: They fly from all over the world to me to get a piece from me, since what I do is very different from almost anyone on the planet.
I make tattoos without stencil - just pure freehand tattoos.
Q: What are three pieces of advice you would give to young artists?
A: Never give up and dream big.
Be better than the best! Be better than me. You can look up to me and many people like me, but I want young artists to try to beat me and be better than me! I am showing the world you can think outside of the box and make art with anything. Now I want people to surpass me with the same mindset!
