Listen up.
Check out our playlist featuring some of the new artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with as well as other rising talents. You’re bound to catch a vibe and find a bop for your own playlists!
FRVRFRIDAY - “Time & It’s Order”
The opening shot of “Time & Its Order” shows the singer donned in sunglasses and a black pea coat, his hair piled on top of his head, and his lips moving to the lyrics. His posture is stoic, and the monochromatic black of his outfit stands out against the hazy grey of the background. The video abruptly pivots to strobe lights followed by smooth black and white shots of FRVRFRIDAY’s members. In this opening segment, the camera’s rapid shifts and changing subject matter practically make the viewer struggle to catch up.
Sanyé - “Stoicism Lol” Music Video
The title alone of Sanyé’s 2020 release is enough to grab one’s attention. Stoicism as a philosophical principle involves using mental strength and self-control to overcome emotion—the evocation of this idea combined with the casual “Lol” reads as both ironic and cheekily subversive.
Moslikely - “PREZI” Music Video
Moslikely’s December music video release, “PREZI,” highlights his confidence and growing success as an artist. Yet while this confidence radiates from the screen and many of the lyrics focus on material riches, he also maintains a down-to-earth feel…
Hazy Shea - “Forever 21” Music Video
Hazy Shea paints a poignant picture of fading youth in “Forever 21.” The song and accompanying video invoke acute nostalgia and the feeling of introspection; we watch Hazy Shea wander down graffitied streets, buy a beer at a convenience store, and smoke a cigarette as ash flutters away in the wind.
Jon Hope - “Hands On The Clock”
Jon Hope uses silhouettes and light with an ease that enhances the impact of his song, “Hands on the Clock” (featuring J Stone). His nodding head in profile appears time after time, punctuating the video and centering our attention on Hope himself. As the lyrics reveal, the song largely focuses on his own growth and progress: “2020 was the year that myself I finally discovered.” It’s therefore only fitting that Hope is the star of the music video—he stands alone in virtually every shot, although he’s often depicted from the back or the side and nearly swallowed by shadow. One-shot, for example, shows Hope with his back against a wall.
Ja’king The Divine
Peace I’m Ja’king the Divine I’m from New York but was raised between Bed-Stuy Brooklyn and Uniondale Long Island. I established a creative collective/brand back in 2018 called DIV7NE. I represent black culture, the pure essence hip -hop, and anything nerdy you can think of lol. Some of my interests include film, comics, philosophy, gaming, art, fashion, and poetic literature.
Zehailah - “Welcome to the Party”
The backing track of Zehailah’s January 2022 release, “Welcome to the Party,” remains consistent in its lightness and tempo. Different beats are layered over top, infusing the song with a variety that juxtaposes the changing scenes in the video. To contrast this relative simplicity in the background, Zehailah’s voice takes the foreground.
J. Rose - “Livin Lavish”
As the title suggests, J. Rose’s “Livin Lavish” tells a story of success. The music video is replete with images of luxury, right down to the details: bottles of champagne and swirling cigar smoke, Cartier glasses, and cash strewn on the ground. Yet these superficial images are undergirded by the story told in the lyrics: “I put in work, I paid the cost.” Not only does the artist express that his newfound riches are hard-won, but he also presents each luxury as a symbol of his success.
Samara Cyn - “Time”
“Time,” Samara Cyn’s October 2021 music video release, exudes the effortless warmth of late summer. Every shot has the rosy tint of golden hour, with clips throughout the video filtered as though recorded with a vintage camera.

My name is Sherren Olivia. I am a singer-songwriter from Chicago, IL. I love music and have been singing since I was a child. I began singing in church at a young age and continued to sing throughout my life in choirs. In college, I was introduced to recording and songwriting where I started to work with other musicians. I released my first two songs in 2015 on Soundcloud. I remember hoping that song would get to 500 plays and never imagined that something I wrote in my dorm room would reach over 100,000 people.
My first album "Oasis" was released this past February 2022. My journey has just begun and I am very excited to continue growing as an artist and make more music. I want to encourage anyone who loves to make music and create art to never stop creating. Create things that you like and do not try to create for others.
