Sao Celine (@saocelinee)
• What first got you into music?
I was introduced to music from a young age by my Mum, she was always playing the likes of ‘Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Amy Winehouse, Celine Dion, MJ etc…
• Who inspired you to make music?
I guess you can say my Mum because that’s who introduced me to music, from hearing it every day I naturally grew to love it and realised I could also sing.
• How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Wavy lover girl.
• What is your creative process like?
I’d like to describe myself as a storyteller for the most part unless I’m creating a song just based on ‘vibes’. I’ll tell my producer what type of vibe I’m looking for, decide the topic, write down a bunch of ideas, words, and feelings. Lay my melodies, and structure then write.
• Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Chris Brown.
• If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Mmm, there are definitely a few but I’d say Chris Brown.
• What is one message you would give to your fans?
Believe in yourself, take risks, invest in your dreams, and put God first.
• What is the most useless talent you have?
I danced for 10+ years so that’s something I’m working on getting back into.
• What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Besides other quests that I do, like modelling, either working in the Law field or running my own business.
• Where have you performed?
I’m still fresh so I haven’t performed a lot yet but the last place I performed was at an event I was hosted at with Propmyganda.
What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
I don’t really have any as of yet, once I do more we can revisit this question lol.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
In the process.
• How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
It’s definitely impacted the music business in a lot of good ways because we have the ability to put our music in front of a lot of eyes by the click of a finger. Everyone is on the internet so you never know who is watching.
• What is your favorite song to perform?
“Sao Szn” or “Just Might”.
• Which famous musicians do you admire?
Jhene Aiko, PND, CB, Summer Walker. The list goes on.
• What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
I’m a calm girl, I be chilling so nothing out of the ordinary lol.
• What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Just live your life for you, it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else, it’s not their life.
• If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
The business sides of things I think are very questionable, so that.
• What’s next for you?
Continuing to elevate, grow, learn & build more. Prepare to just see more of Sao Cèline, in real time. God’s speed.
