Toronto’s very own Natosh Renee
Q: Tell me something about your first song ever. What has changed from that very first song, better yet grown?
A: Woah my first song ever...hmmm I wrote my first song in 5th grade and it was a hot mess lol. Now my first radio single was “Maybe if you didn’t lie” like 7 years ago. What changed was I stopped entertaining men who were foolish and met a real one who inspired me to create music about wanting his love forever on my new single “Forever” on all streaming sites.
Q: How did you feel when recording at an official music studio?
A: I looooove it!! I am all smiles, cracking jokes, dancing and just so excited. It is an unreal feeling bringing a melody you were humming in the shower to life. Like I can not explain it but the studio makes me feel alive on all levels.
Q: What do you like about writing your own music?
A: It is so important to me because I like speaking for myself in real life so being able to do the same through my music feels more authentic. I am always the friend my girls come to, to formulate their spicy or carefully worded text messages because they say I have a way with words, that gets the reaction they want. I have always just been quick with comebacks and ideas so I challenge myself to apply that to my songwriting.
Q: What could you tell your fans about some of your upcoming projects?
A: To follow me on Instagram to keep on top of all my new releases. I plan to release two songs this month so be sure to look for that. Also that you can find my new music on all streaming platforms so be sure to follow me on there too.
Q: What do you like writing about the most?
A: I love writing about relationships, my emotions, and sexuality from a woman’s perspective. The way I see it is, place women from all walks of life in a room for an hour with a little wine and a hidden camera and one topic they will all relate to is their emotions towards men & dating. It is what bonds us and I make music for the ladies to feel.
Q: What is a long term goal?
A: To be one of the most successful black female singer songwriters out of Toronto. That is my main focus right now to make Canada proud of what I do overseas. Jamaicans too because that’s where I was born gotta represent for my people.
Q: What is a short term goal?
A: To get my first album complete before summer 2020.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three ways?
A:Okay I like ways better than words good question:
1. I am a caring and compassionate woman who loves to leave people feeling better than I found them.
2. I am intelligent and extremely ambitious with the tenacity to see my work through to completion.
3. I am grateful and super optimistic. I really believe in the principles in Napoleon Hills “Think and Grow Rich” I live by it. I give God credit for everything I have.
Q: If you could tour anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Definitely Europe and Africa because it is so unknown to me beyond picture and the history I learned through school and google. A tour in either area would be such an accomplishment off my bucket list.
Q: Will you be doing any music videos in the future?
A: Absolutely. I feel some songs you just need to see the lyrics come to life to fall in love with even more. I think we all hear a dope song and literally imagine the video in our minds. When the video is finally made and it’s close or even more amazing than we imagined it makes you love the song even more.
