A record producer/ artist from all the lands of the unknown.

Q: When did you start the project you just released? What was your thought process for creating this?

I started the idea for this project a little over a year ago. Although there is one track on there that I had produced years ago the world never really heard it so I thought it would be a good idea to throw that in there.

Q: Was there a person that inspired you to make this project? If so who and why?

I have many different inspirations that were all put into effect when thinking about this project. But the one main inspiration I could say is Ratatat. Probably my favorite duo to listen to when it comes to just listening to instrumentals. I can not think of many people who just simply release instrumental projects. So I thought it was cool to be able to do something like that and have a name for yourself.

Q: What made you want to make "Moonlight Saga"? What made you do only instrumental?

I have always had the idea to make instrumental projects. I feel like a lot of times producers do not get the credit they deserve, they are artists too. I wanted to make an album that was all about the beats, and showed people what I could do as a producer.

Q: What are the roles that you play in the music industry? What role do you like the most?

I play many roles in the music industry. I started out producing, then that led to recording artists, directing and shooting videos, developing artists, and managing and marketing them. I could say I wore almost every hat when it came to this industry. Besides producing music and being a creator, I would say helping develop an artist is what I like most. I get a kick out of seeing and growing from the bottom up.

Q: What got you interested in producing music? How long have you done this?

I have been producing music for as long as I can remember. Always played around with keyboards when I had the chance, observed DJs, and even took a brief guitar lesson once when I was young. However, I never started taking it a little more seriously until I was 18 in my college dorm room.

Q: What artists stand out to you the most and why?

Artists like Kid Cudi stand out the most to me. His vibe and music are just so different almost like there is not a true genre to it. No one was opening up about what they were going through and being true to their sound like Cudi. Then we have artists like Daft Punk who first spoke to me about not having to be a vocal artist to be an artist. That retro-futuristic vibe to them too and always wearing helmets, that should already speak for itself.

Q: What and how do you communicate with everybody when working with so many people, on one team?

In this modern world, it could be as easy as just creating group chats. I have many of them. It makes handling objectives more fluent, and nowadays we can even do group video calls at any point via FaceTime. Modern technology has made it so easy to transfer knowledge and get things done quickly.

Q: What are the tools that you use when making music? These tools could be a specific system, online tool, etc

For me, my main tool and instrument is the Maschine. It is pretty much a hybrid hardware/software I use as a groove production to lay out my beats. Beyond that, my main setup includes Yamaha HS8’s, Apollo Twin X, Mac Mini or Macbook Pro, my Komplete midi keyboard, or akai mini when wanting to be more portable. I can go forever as far as software/plugins I use but we can not forget good old Pro-Tools.

Q: What do you want people to know about the music that you make?

I want my beats to have their own vibe and identity. I do not want them to sound generic or like anything else that is out there.

Q: If you could have three words that describe you as an artist, what would they be? Why?

Unique, Humble, and Bold. I would say because can you think of someone who has a project like this? I knew everyone would not get why I released this at first, but either way, I did not care I did not just release this for just anybody and mainly did it for myself as well.
