Meet Freestyle Rapper Fatimah Patrice

I am Fatimah Patrice, Hip Hop/Neo Soul Recording Artist and Songwriter from the Bay Area, CA. I began hitting the ground running in the music realm in 2013, and since that time has manifested into a versatile & multifaceted artist with my signature sound & stylistic vibes.

Q: What do you like the most about writing your music? Do you write songs for other artists?

Writing music is very therapeutic to me. I write from a place of personal experiences and storytelling of other individuals.

I do write songs for other artists, mainly R&B songs.

Q: How old were you when you wrote your first song? What was this song about?

I was like five years old, it was in my grade school class. Our teacher had us collaborate with her by adding lyrics to a song she wanted us to make up on the spot lol. I honestly do not remember what the song was about but I do remember it had something to do with donuts and other random things.

Q: How would you say your songs have changed, over the years?

My songs have drastically changed since I was five years old lol. As an adult, you see the world completely different from when you were a kid. The older I get the more I appreciate the wisdom gained in the process.

Q: What is your song After 9 pm about? What inspired you to write this song?

"After 9pm" feat. IRUZ is about people respecting the boundaries you set, standing firm in the boundaries, and applying them when necessary.

Q: What was your experience like during BET weekend? Was there a favorite event? If so what was this and why?

BET Weekend was so fun! I met a lot of amazing people and fellow Music artists. One of my favorite events during BET Weekend was the "Hype Off Culture" Showcase, I was a featured artist at the event.

Are you an artist?

Q: What made you want to start making tiktoks alongside other artists?

A few of my supporters would tag me in the TikTok Collaboration videos and would say "You should hop on this, I know you'll kill it!" and I kept declining until one day I heard a dope one and hopped on it. I honestly did not have an interest in it at first but it turned out to be very fun and a great way to network with other music artists.

Q: Where do you want to be in your career, in the next five years? How will you achieve this?

I usually shy away from this question because I do not want to limit what the Higher Powers have in store for me. BUT! One of my goals is to be performing on Tour around the World successfully.

Q: How many songs do you have within your catalog? Do you have a goal for how many songs you compile?

I honestly do not know exactly lol I have done so many solo songs and freestyles, group songs, song features, and songwriting collaborations that I do not even know where to start counting. I do know I will be doing this forever so the songs I will compile will be endless.

Q: What is your favorite setting to write and be in the creative mindset?

Being alone or in a small group setting is always best for me. I can write with or without the beat playing. Having a set topic to write about is always a plus for me.

Q: What does success mean to you?

Freedom.. Freedom to do whatever you desire, whenever you desire, however, you desire, and having the means to do it all.
