New York Hiph Hop Artist: Uneak

Q: If you could describe your music using one word what would it be and why?

A:  I would describe my music as "Unique" because I am Uneak. Just kidding but on a serious note I do think I would describe it as unique, though, because my music is truly me. I do not talk about life, I do not live in my music. Also, I put my all into my music. My all meaning is my mind, heart, craft, situations, life, and sauce.

Q: In what ways has music changed or shaped your life?

A: Music has definitely played a big part in my life. I was at a moment in my life where I felt like I had nothing going for me that I truly cared about. Then I started to pick music back up and started writing again and it truly changed my life. I did music when I was little but I stopped so I tapped back into it and it started to blow up the way it did really made me who I am today.

Q: What is your process behind working on a new project?

A: My process with working on a new project is first, I want to know what I am going for. Do I want to make a love project, diverse project, motivational project, etc. Next, I listen to and find the ones that I can, off rip, catch a vibe to. Then after I will write it most of the time I will finish writing a song in a day or two. Last, I record the vocals then 'Boom" its release time.

Q: What do you like most about performing? What do you think is the most important thing to do when performing?

A: I love being on stage and just having that moment to be yourself in the lights. I love to see the crowd jumping and rapping my lyrics. I think the most important thing is to have the crowd participate. You have to make sure you are connecting with the crowd so they feel comfortable to turn up with you.

Q: How has your music evolved over the years?

A:  My music has evolved greatly these past few years. I take the time to listen to my old music and I really see major development.

Q: What would be your dream label to be signed to and why?

A: I honestly do not have a dream label to sign to. That is not to say I would not sign to a label but I would be very cautious before I do. My ultimate goal is to stay independent until the right opportunity presents itself.

Q: What do you like to do during your free time?

A: If it is not making music then I like to play basketball or just chill in my free time.

Q: What is your favorite city you have traveled to so far? Would this be somewhere you would like to perform? Why or why not?

A:  Los Angeles is my favorite city I have been to so far and I have performed there.

Q: Do you have a team that helps you behind your music and or videos? If so how did you connect with them?

A:  I have my brother who helps me with video ideas and helps me get connected with people but other than him I am doing this on my own.

Q: How do you work on mastering your craft of being a rapper?

A: I master my craft by studying myself and others. I see how I am moving as an artist and how certain others move which helps me know what I need to be doing or what I should or should not be doing. I also wrote a lot which helps me stay sharp.

Q: What do you think is the best song you have and why?

A: My best song out right now is probably "Hurtin" or "Beast Mode". Not only do these two get the most love but when I am performing these specific songs I feel like I am in another zone.
