The Cosmic Graphic Artist: Eden Redpath
Q: What does it mean to be a graphic artist?
A: I think being a graphic artist means constantly trying to create new and interesting artwork while trying to still keep your audience engaged.
Q: Where do you get the inspiration from for you work?
A: I get most of my inspiration from other artists (movies, books, artwork), nature and the universe.
Q: What does success mean to you?
A: For me, success means connecting with people as intimately and personally as possible. I believe that if you are truly connecting with people, your work will never simply "blend in" to the millions of other artwork's out there. From there, you are bound to find success in every other definition (monetary, social, etc)
Q: What is the coolest concept you have come up with so far?
A: I think my favourite recent concept I have come up with is my "Central Pool" idea. I love the idea of having a giant pool in the middle of Central Park and it fits so perfectly together.
Q: How could one purchase your work?
A: People wishing to purchase my artwork can purchase prints via my website www.edenredpath.com
Q: What other mediums do you like to work with? (paint, oils, colored pencils, printmaking, etc)
A: I absolutely love working with paints. Painting is actually how I first started creating artwork, I only started creating digital artwork when I was 18 and moved onto a sailboat where I could not paint anymore.
Q: What is the story behind the name cosmiceden?
A: My first name is Eden and I am obsessed with the cosmos. That is how my name came about.
Q: Do you have a favorite color to work with? If so what is it?
A: I have a favourite color set to work with. My favourite colours are anything pastel and bright. I love the look of anything including those colours and each of my artworks always ends up matching my others simply because I stick to the same color palette.
Q: What environment do you like to work in the most?
A: My absolute favourite place to work is my office. I love to set up a movie for background noise, get comfortable, open up all my windows (for natural sunlight) and get inspired.
Q: If you could create a piece for a specific person or company what would it be and why?
A: I would love to work with a surfboard or skateboard company to create an art set with a couple boards. That would be my absolute dream job.
