Getting to Know Brooklyn Vocalist Ashlee

Q:What is the best opportunity you got to experience this far into your career?

A: The best opportunity honestly is almost everything. I have grown so much as a person outside of being an artist. I have met some of my idols, and receive so much love and support from people around the world.

Q: What does success mean to you?

A: Success to me is growth. The process of bettering yourself in EVERY area of life.

Q: What do you want people to know about what you are working on right now?

A: I want people to know that I am being completely transparent with this project. I am talking about my process and experiences and I hope people can either be inspired or feel connected.

Q: Who are you the biggest fan of and why?

A: I am a huge fan of a few but I think who stands out the most to me is Rihanna. She is just a boss ass chick. Through her whole career she has been consistent and just gets better with time. As an artist and as a woman. I am not sure if people understand how much she sacrificed to be the person she is.

Q: What is one high and one low that you have experienced with building your career?

A: One high is I get to just be myself and constantly make myself proud. I feel so empowered when I make great music that people love. One low is probably relationships friends, guys, it is hard to find people that understand what I am going through or where I am coming from so it gets lonely.

Q: Would you ever go outside of your preferred genre? If so what genre would it be and why? If not why?

A: Probably house music which we have kinda done with remixes but I really like house music.

Q: If you could collaborate with anybody dead or alive, famous or not famous, who would it be and why?

A: I would love to collaborate with Calvin Harris. That would be so dope.  I want to be a super versatile artist.

Q: What was your first concert, that you attended? What was the experience like for you?

A: The first concert I went to was a Chris Brown concert. My second concert is what really stood out to me. It was Drake concert at Barclays center for Nothing Was The Same. That concert inspired me so much. I felt like I needed to be on a stage and connect with thousands the way he did.

Q:What was the song that got you and your team going? What about this song do you thing attracted people, besides your dope sound lol?

A: “Alone With You” has changed the game for me and my team. It’s the song that made people look my way. I think people love it because it makes them feel super confident and sexy.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you could give your fans?

A: The best advice I could give is dream BIG. Trust the process and believe in yourself. It is freaking hard to be different and go after a dream, but once you have a pure heart and good intentions with great work ethics and consistency you’re bound to reach you goals in no time. Also, to be great you HAVE to be open to failure. You learn your best lessons from failure.
