D’andre Nero a.k.a LittleJacketNero

Q: First can you tell the public about yourself? What has your journey been with your career?

A: Yoooo wassup my name is D’andre Nero AKA LittleJacketNero. I have been dancing since I was five & I always knew this was my destiny. Dancing is really second nature for me like I know all the ins & outs of this shit lol. It was hard for me to graduate from high school & going through homelessness shortly after in 2014. I knew in order to make sure I could dance full time I had to deal with the struggles that came with that sacrifice. I was more than aware of what I was doing, I do not have any regrets for it & I would do it all over again if I knew the position I am in now would be so rewarding.

Q: What is something you want your fans to know about the song Kash?

A: The song “KASH” started off as a joke my brother Isaiah(KangFrvr) called me & Malik Sosho like “yooo listen to this bullshit mightybae (Kash Producer) sent me this beat.” Leek & I listened to it laughing but laughing because it was HARD AF. Lil so was like “Yo we gotta really snap on this because it can go”. LittleJacket started off as a joke between me & my childhood friend(TrappBreezus). I was at his crib for a whole week because of the job I was working at the time & he was like “you not trying to make a mixtape?!” I was like “yeaaa Ight bet” we made literally like three meme tapes that week song after song, meme after meme & bullshit after bullshit. Honestly one of the best things to happen to me because now I can really show people another side of music & show that LittleJacket really tough.

Q: What do you like most about dancing?

A: The one thing I love about my dancing is how sincere & free it is. I am a super dance nerd when it comes to this side of my life. I know some of the greatest dancers in the world so my mission is to be among & looked at as one of the greatest to move. Dance is one of the greatest forms of art. It is so hard & yet so easy to do. People think you have to dance a certain way when it comes to Hip-Hop dancing. But I love seeing other people’s perspectives through their dance(movement). Everybody is having a conversation when they are moving & it is all about how you wanna communicate. I may not understand what you are saying but I would love to understand the language you are speaking so educate me. Dance is so free more than anything to me because there is no right or wrong way to move.

Q: Where do you want to take your career? Where do you see yourself in five years?

A: I see myself living overseas for a while to train in five years. Germany, Paris & Amsterdam to be exact. The thing about myself is that I am not a good planner at all. I just live. I have never really had an end goal as far as my career goes & maybe that is a bad thing ya know? But I try to live as organic as I can, to be honest, that goes for my personal relationships & even me practicing. I never want to force anything. I feel like that type of energy just creates stress. I know that I wanna do movies & more commercial work that would be dope. I’m looking forward to teaching overseas though more than anything for sure.

Q: How do you feel about social media? What do you like and dislike about most? How do you feel about Chance the Rapper following you?

A: I think social media is weird as hell! It is so funny though because in a way I am contradicting myself. I use social media on the daily. I watch people’s stories more than the news itself. Twitter is damn near the news, Instagram is MTV, BET & VH1 all put together & Snapchat is literally YouTube. I am watching people vlog their life every day. Wow, that is crazy I really did not think about that until I typed it out. Do not get me wrong we live in a generation where social media is ruling the world. I love the fact that there are platforms where I can freely post as I please & share my art with others near & far. As far as Chance The Rapper following me I did not think much about it. That is my man. We have done hella shows together and we work frequently. I think people forget that these celebrities are human & just wanna kick it. Chance is one of the coolest individuals I have meant & plus I am thankful for the opportunities he has placed in front of myself & TheFutureKingz. He knows how important it is to work with those from the city ya know? That type of love & energy is rare when everybody is out for themselves. I am just happy we’re friends at the end of the day. He’s a good dude.

Q: Who and what motivates you the most? What about this motivates you?

A: Besides TheFutureKingz honestly my kids motivate me. We have a teen branch of TheFutureKingz called “TFkidz” & I have another collective that I train as well called “KangzKastle”. From the kids to my friends they are a constant reminder of why I do what I do. I gotta give them mad credit because we live together. They have seen me at my worst & my best. I am just thankful that I have an influence & that they trust me to steer them in the right direction. I also gotta give credit to my sister. I got her name tattooed on me & she’s a constant reminder to be great & to be the best me I can be. In addition to all of that though I really have to give high praise to myself. All the trials & tribulations I have been through just to be in this position is still mind-blowing. I do not like reminiscing much these days but knowing that I was gonna do everything I had set out to do so far in my life is something I knew was possible but I did not know it was really* gonna happen to me.

Q: How do you challenge yourself in your career and personal life?

A: I am constantly challenging myself all the time especially in my art. As far as dance goes I do not see myself hitting a ceiling. I have too much I wanna see for myself so I have to keep experimenting & doing my research. I mean yeah I make music but that is purely for fun I love hearing an original verse from myself & it’s just dope. I wanna start singing more though for sure but that will come with time & my comfortability. Every day I am challenged in my personal life as far as having tough conversations with my boys, my relationship problems & even my thought process sometimes. I am not super religious or anything but whenever I pray I always ask for clarity & I pray to make sure I am making the right decisions in my life.

Q: What is your favorite pair of shoes?

A: My favorite kicks?!?!? DO NOT ASK ME THAT LOL! That is so hard but if I have to answer Retro 1s, my Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max, Stranglelove SBs & of course my OG black authentic vans. I struggled so much in those damn vans. Like I walked everywhere in them shits. I never had much money but I had vans so shoutout to them haha.

Q: What would you say your biggest accomplishment so far is?

A: I honestly do not know how to answer this question because even with me being 24 & doing all I have done... I still feel like I have not done anything & that there is much more to do. I guess to answer this I will say my biggest accomplishment is to say I dance full time with my friends. Yeah, that for sure.
