Meet New York Artist Delly

Q: When you were at a younger age what did you want to do when you were older?

A: When I was younger I envisioned myself being an NFL superstar, who eventually retired at an early age to then get into acting.

Q: When did you know that music would be a big part of your life?

A:  Music was always a big part of my life. I was enrolled in the Harlem School of Arts since I was six years old. This is where I learned how to play violin, viola, and many percussion instruments.

Q: What do you like most about performing?

A:  I love the energy of performing. Being able to put your heart out in the world along with hard work and seeing that energy being reciprocated. It’s really dope.

Q: How did you know when you were starting to get noticed? How did that make you feel?

A: I still don’t feel like I’m noticed so I’m working harder, than ever, to make sure I get the all the notice I deserve.

Q: What is your favorite genre of music when performing? How about when not performing?

A: My favorite version of music performing is most definitely turnt up hip hop, but when I’m not performing I really do enjoy melodic songs like R&B.

Q: Where did the name Delly come from?

A: Delly is my childhood nickname. It was given to me by my family and I’ve ran with it ever since. I used to have all my teachers call me Delly as well.

Q: What is something you can let people know about what you are working on?

A: I’m working on taking over the world by a storm. I’m the hottest out and it’s about time I let the world know.

Q: Who is your favorite artist?

A: I’m my favorite artist, but I do enjoy Lil Yachty, Trippie Redd, Dipset, Ferg etc.

Q: If you could work with anybody or any company who would you work with and why?

A: I really want to get a partnership going with Timberland so I can create my own 40Belows

Q: What is something you want to accomplish by the end of 2019?

A: By the end of 2019 I’d love to have a gold record certified by the RIAA.
